Speech

I don’t really have much in the way of analysis of last night’s goings on. It was really nice to be able to enjoy an SOTU-ish speech. I thought Obama nailed the tone and presentation, and he said some really great stuff. Now it’s back to business.

On Jindal, well, let me just repost an excerpt (via Beutler):

The stimulus, he says, “includes $300 million to buy new cars for the government, $8 billion for high-speed rail projects, such as a ‘magnetic levitation’ line from Las Vegas to Disneyland, and $140 million for something called ‘volcano monitoring.’ Instead of monitoring volcanoes, what Congress should be monitoring is the eruption of spending in Washington, DC.”

The rail lie gets over more egregious and absurd. And of course, the market will monitor volcanoes best. Your modern GOP ladies and gentlemen.

“the market will monitor volcanoes best.” Nice tag.

    Yeah, good line.

There were so many facepalm moments in Jindal’s reply. It was just embarrassing.

Also embarrassing: That Jindal sounded exactly like Kenneth on 30 Rock.

  3. Frank Says:

Alan Greenspan thinks its best to let the volcanoes monitor themselves.
