Storming and Warming

I realize that if the people who think winter snow storms undermine the science of global warming were the sort who could be influenced by things like evidence and data, then they wouldn’t think winter snow storms undermined the science of global warming. And obviously, there have been some nice explanations elsewhere about just why big winter storms do not mean that warming isn’t occurring or isn’t likely to have nasty effects. Others have noted that while the mid-Atlantic has gotten socked by snow this winter, other traditionally snowy places, like say Vancouver, are experiencing unseasonably warm temperatures.

I just want to point out that despite all the snow, we may see the lowest ever level of winter sea ice extent in the Arctic this year. So, you know, keep that in mind.

Sure is a lot of carbon about this year. Duly noted.
